About the 225/70R15 size
The late second-generation F-body and C3 Corvette size. The factory designation was GR70-15 in the mid-1970s and by 1980 the window sticker simply said P225/70R15, so this one is a genuine factory radial rather than a bias conversion; it is also the accepted substitute for F70-15. Raised-white-letter versions from Cooper and BFGoodrich are what most Trans Am and Corvette owners fit, narrow whitewalls come from the Hankook Optimo H724 and Coker, and bias-ply FR70-15 reproductions are available for judged cars. Ratings are S and T, the same ballpark as the original B and S. Diameter is 27.4 in, so it fills a 1979 Trans Am wheel opening correctly where a 60-series does not.
