Cooper Tire and Rubber was founded in 1914 and grew up in Findlay, Ohio, where it is still based. For most of its life it was the largest independent US tire maker, selling through independent dealers rather than its own stores. In 2021 Goodyear bought Cooper for about 2.5 billion dollars, and the brand now sits as Goodyear's value line alongside Mastercraft and Mickey Thompson. Cooper builds tires in Ohio, Mississippi and Arkansas, plus plants in Mexico and Serbia.
Cooper's strength is trucks and SUVs. The Discoverer AT3 4S is a long-running favorite among all-terrain buyers for its quiet road manners and three-peak mountain snowflake rating, the Discoverer Road+Trail AT is a milder alternative for crossovers, and the Discoverer STT Pro is a serious mud-terrain. For cars, the ProControl and Endeavor lines are competent all-seasons that cost less than Goodyear or Michelin.
Warranties run 50,000 to 65,000 miles on most models plus a 45-day road test guarantee. Pricing sits in the middle of the market and Cooper runs rebates several times a year. The trade-off is that the car tires are merely good rather than class-leading; buy Cooper for the truck tires, where it competes with the best.

Is the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S a good tire?
