Maserati is Stellantis's Italian luxury performance brand, selling in the low thousands a year in the United States. The current range is the Grecale and Levante SUVs, the Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans and the MC20 supercar, and the brand has shifted from sedans to SUVs the way everyone else has. Its reputation rests on engine sound and styling rather than on residual values.
For tires, Maserati sits in the awkward space of low volume and staggered fitments, which means narrow choice inside each size.
Tires on a Maserati
Maserati-approved tires carry MGT on the sidewall, listed in Wikipedia's tire code reference as the Maserati genuine tire marking. The approval is tuned to Maserati's damping and steering calibration, and on the Ghibli and Levante it also covers the staggered fitments where front and rear sizes differ. Both models we list are staggered: the Ghibli runs 245/40R19 front and 285/35R19 rear, and the GranTurismo 245/35R20 front and 285/35R20 rear.
That means no rotation, rears wearing roughly twice as fast, and a pair rather than a set as the normal purchase. Because volumes are low, some MGT-marked sizes are effectively single-source, and a tire in stock often matters more than a tire preferred. Most fitments are summer tires from the factory, so a northern owner needs a separate winter set, and here an unmarked tire is usually the only option because no MGT winter tire exists in every size.
Wheel diameters run 19 to 21 inch across the range, with sidewalls short enough that curb and pothole damage to the wheel is as likely as damage to the tire.
The models that matter
The Ghibli is the model most Maserati tire orders are for, on 245/40R19 front and 285/35R19 rear. The 2008 to 2019 GranTurismo runs 245/35R20 front and 285/35R20 rear and still has a substantial US parc. The Levante and Grecale SUVs use 19 to 21 inch staggered and square fitments in the same 255 to 295 millimeter range.
What owners find out later
Maserati shares a great deal with Chrysler-era Dodge under the skin, but it does not share tire sizes, and a retailer that cross-references a Ghibli to a Charger will quote the wrong fitment. None of the current cars carries a full-size spare. The staggered layout means the cheapest correct purchase is usually two rear tires, and a quote for four is a sign the shop has not read the placard.
Because production runs per size are small, an MGT-marked tire can take days to source, so a damaged tire on a road trip is more likely to end in a flatbed than a same-day fix.
