Nitto was founded in Japan in 1949 and has been a subsidiary of Toyo Tire since 1979. Nitto Tire USA operates from Cypress, California and focuses almost entirely on the American enthusiast market: lifted trucks, Jeeps, muscle cars and tuner cars. Many Nitto tires are built in Toyo's plant in White, Georgia, with the rest from Japan and Malaysia.
The Grappler line is what made Nitto's reputation.
