Who owns it
Part of the Dealer Tire family of companies. SimpleTire was started in 2012 by brothers Andy and Josh Chalofsky with Kenny Pratt; Dealer Tire announced a significant investment in May 2018 and SimpleTire has operated inside the Dealer Tire Family of Companies since then. Dealer Tire itself has been backed by Bain Capital Private Equity since October 2018.
What you can buy there
SimpleTire lists more than 300 tire brands and covers passenger, light truck, commercial, agriculture, OTR, industrial, ATV, antique and trailer sizes. Premium names such as Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental, Pirelli and Hankook sit next to low-cost imports, so the catalog is unusually wide at both ends of the price range. Wheels and tire accessories are sold through a separate Gear store rather than the main tire catalog, and used tires are not sold.
Shipping
Shipping is free in the contiguous United States to a home, a business, an installer partner or a FedEx pickup point; oversized farm, commercial and industrial tires are excluded and can carry a fee. SimpleTire says orders placed before 3 p.m. Eastern usually ship the same business day and that delivery takes 1 to 8 business days depending on which stocking point is closest. There is no free shipping to Alaska, Hawaii or PO boxes, because SimpleTire does not hold its own inventory but drop-ships from the Dealer Tire family's nearly 40 U.S. distribution centers plus more than 3,000 independent supply points.
Installation
SimpleTire owns no service bays. It books installation at a network it puts at more than 20,000 certified shops, and the tires are shipped free to the shop you pick at checkout; mobile installers who come to your home or office are available in some ZIP codes. Installation is quoted as an all-inclusive prepaid price at checkout rather than a published per-tire rate, so the amount varies by shop and tire size. A separate three-year tire replacement coverage plan can be added: it reimburses up to $400 per tire for road hazard damage (100 percent in year one, 50 percent in year two, 25 percent in year three) and up to $25 per flat repair.
Returns and warranty
Unused tires can be returned within 30 days of delivery, and only if they have not been mounted on a rim or driven on. The customer pays a $20 per tire return shipping and handling fee, which is waived if SimpleTire shipped the wrong item or if you place a replacement order instead. Orders can only be cancelled within 30 minutes of being placed. Manufacturer defect claims go through SimpleTire or a local dealer for the brand, and SimpleTire passes through the maker's materials-and-workmanship warranty; wear from underinflation, misalignment or the wrong size for the vehicle is excluded.
Where they sit on price
SimpleTire is usually competitive on mid-range and budget tires because it sells from other companies' inventory and does not carry warehouse costs into the price. It is less consistently cheapest on premium touring and performance tires, where large chains with manufacturer rebates often match or beat it. There is no membership or fee, and installation is quoted inside the checkout total rather than added at the shop.

- Wrong size or wrong model shipped is a recurring complaint on Trustpilot and Sitejabber, including cases where a cheaper or lower-mileage-warranty model arrived in place of what was ordered
- Returns cost $20 per tire out of the customer's pocket unless SimpleTire made the error, and orders cannot be cancelled after 30 minutes
- Reviewers describe warranty and damage claims as slow, with the same photos and documents requested repeatedly, and several report receiving tires several years old by DOT date

Is SimpleTire a legitimate company?
Yes. SimpleTire is a Pennsylvania-based online tire retailer founded in 2012 and has been part of the Dealer Tire family of companies since 2018. It holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and is accredited there. Its own site says it has served about 7 million customers.
How long does SimpleTire take to ship?
